Could things have been done differently in trying to rescue the 6 trapped miners in Utah?

I'm sure that the rescuers will have "lessons learned" sessions afterwards. And, in an imperfect world, lessons are always learned. This doesn't mean that any of the rescuers were negligent in their approach. This was an ugly and dangerous situation with no textbook answers.
